The HP Photosmart 5510 is rated at 11ppm printing black and 7.5ppm printing colour. The ink cartridges clip into the head carrier very easily and the support software includes HP PhotoCreations and support for ePrint. The printer can be connected via USB or wireless, though wireless is the easier option, particularly if your router supports WPS setup. It’s in the manual, but if you’re the type who likes to work things out from first principles, it’s easy to get confused. It’s not at all obvious that the paper feed tray pulls out, like a skeletal paper cassette, so you can feed small paper sizes into the bowels of the machine. Then there’s feeding 15 x 10cm photo blanks. As pages come through, they ride up the angled paper stop and often overcome the little ridge at the top which is supposed to stop them. This is a common enough way of doing things with inexpensive all-in-ones, but here there’s a swivel-out paper support, for some reason coloured brown against the black livery of the rest of the machine, and with a long flip-up paper stop, which is both flimsy and ineffective. There are a couple of other slightly unfortunate design features in this machine.įor a start, printed pages stack up on top of the input tray. Unusually, this slot is very fiddly to work a card into. To the left of this is a flip-open cover for the dual memory card slot, which takes SD and MemoryStick cards. It’s very easy to use and has separate indicators for wireless connection and HP’s remote printing ePrint function.ĭirectly below the control panel is the fold-down front cover, which becomes the paper feed tray. The small, neat control panel is touch-sensitive, with a 60mm touchscreen boarded down either side by three touch buttons. The top of the flatbed scanner lifts without problem and the whole scanner section hinges up equally easily to get at the four, independent ink cartridges. This is a long, low machine, with simple and practical lines. This seems to happen more quickly with HP printers than some other makes and the Photosmart 5510 is a good example of the kind of technology you can now buy for under £60. Better if you take note of other errors that you'll encounter so we can add additional steps. As new technology finds its way into printers, it slowly filters down from the premium to the budget models. I know this one is resolvable since it's perfectly working with other devices. Im pretty sure that Print and scan doctor will tell you if you dont have the full feature SW and will let you download it for a perfect solution. Try downloading Print and Scan doctor at this link. The problem will just be on the software. If it's already giving you a good reply, then there's should be no problem with the communication. Then after that, try pinging again and it might give a positive reply. If it's destination host unreachable, restarting all devices including the router will needed. If computer is connected to Guest Network, it'll be impossible. If it's request timed out, make sure that the printer is connected on the same network as the computer that you're workin' at. (with byte values w/c is a good sign! There's a communcation between computer and printer.) (it means, computer and printer is connected to same network but not communicating) (it means this computer is connected to a different network)ĭestination host unreachable. Type ping(Printer's IP Address found on the report) Go to computer, press and hold WinLogo + R and Run window will come up.Ĭommand Prompt will come up with a black window. Since the printer is already working with other devices, an IP address should exist.Ĭheck for IP Address and take note of it.
